READ A BOOK: "BILLY AND ME" BY GIOVANNA FLETCHER

Some time ago I made a post about my 'Holiday Book List' in which I also included "Billy And Me" by Giovanna Fletcher. I finished reading this book couple days ago and now I can tick it off the list.
Firstly I should probably tell you why I chose to read this book. Well, I'm a big (actually 'big' might be a little understatement in this case) fan of a birtish band called McFly and Giovanna Fletcher is a wife of one of the members, Tom Fletcher and "Billy And Me" is her debut novel. So as you can imagine, it was a "must read" to me.

"Billy And Me" is about a girl called Sophie who lives in a small town in England. Sophie gave up her dreams of going to university or travel the world and started working in a little teashop on the hill. Later in the book she meets Billy, a handsome actor who's in town to film "Pride And Prejudice". Of course, he's playing Mr Darcy and of course, they fall in love. The rest of the book shows how Sophie adapts into the glamorous life of Billy and how does the life in spotlight look like.

I think the book is really good and I will definitely read more of Giovanna's work. It was really nice and easy to read even though it took me about 3 weeks to finish it. Well... I'm a slow reader. It isn't only a love story, it's also a story about strong family bonds and friendship which made the book even more interesting. I have to say I really liked all the characters, especially Molly as she was just the kindest person ever.
I don't want to spoil anything and that's why I'm not gonna write too much about the book but I just have to say that I kind of needed a little bit more tension in it. I love books that won't let me put them away, in which endings of every chapter make it impossible for me not to read the next one. And this almost never happened in "Billy And Me". But this is something I can easily forgive, especially since it is Giovanna's debut novel.

In a nutshell, "Billy And Me" was a great read that sometimes made me smile and sometimes made my cry.  I recommend this book to anyone who loves nice romance novels.

Have you read this book?
