MY THOUGHTS ON: REVLON COLORBURST LIP BUTTER

I bought this Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter about three weeks ago so I guess it's time to tell you what I think about it. The one I bought is in colour called Wild Watermelon (number 063). I knew there were lots of shades of this lipstick before I went to the drugstore but when I was there I just had almost nothing to choose from (maybe because they were on sale) and that's why I decided to choose the best one there and went for Wild Watermelon. It is a coral or pink red with a luminous finish, I would even say it's a little bit raspberry.

At first I didn't really know how to use it, I know it might sound a little bit ridiculous, but that's what happened. When I applied it on my lips it looked kind of uneven an made my lips look smaller. But I found a solution! I'm using it over a lip balm and I apply one layer only (maybe two when I my lips have a good day), it makes my lips look smooth and the colour is more sheer which I think suits me more. What's also great about Revlon lip butter is that it's very moisturising (it feels almost like a lip balm) and it has a nice shine. I love the fact that it has no shimmer in it because I hate shimmery lipsticks. I also really love the packaging even though it's pretty hard to open. It lasts for about 3 hours, but only if you're not eating or drinking anything, because when you do it it fades away almost completely.

I don't know if it's the formula or the fact that I chose the most pigmented one of this line but I am not 100% happy with it. I think I will be giving this lip butter idea another chance though! I think either Juicy Papaya or Tutti-Frutti will be my next choice!

What do you think about Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters? Have you tried Wild Watermelon?

  1. Very insightful review! Tbh I think these lip butters are too shiny for me! And I argee shimmery lipsticks are horrendous (on me at least)!

  2. I don't really like any shimmer in my lipsticks too, looks terrible. I guess I need to try Revlon Lip Butter on my own to see how it is b ecause every review is different and it's hard to tell xx

  3. I tried Strawbery shortcake which is a really pretty pink colour, but I'd also like to try the one you have, how sheer is it though? X

    1. I wouldn't say it's very sheer. When I put one layer it is quite sheer but when I apply more the colour becomes strong xx

  5. I like them because they're way easier to wear than a lipstick and not as in-your-face, but you can build the color up. I have Tutti Frutti and it's such a wearable orange and looks good in the summertime!

  7. I LOVE THESE! I do agree that they are very high maintenance though... I treat it like a tinted lip balm though, I think if you are expecting it to be a lipstick it will disappoint.

  9. I have quite a few of these, but I can't help feeling they're a bit over hyped?! They feel like a shiny lip balm, that only lasts an hour at tops?! :( xx

    1. Yes, over hyped is a good description of these. I somehow still want to give them another chance as I wanna know WHY there's so much hype surrounding them xx

    2. Is there any advice, or a particular program you used? I need to re design my blog but have no inspiration x

    3. All you need is a simple graphic program, like Gimp for example. My advice is - keep it simple! I made a header first and then I made everything look similar xx

  16. I find that the trouble with the lip butters is that they cling to dry patches! Not my favourites.

  17. I've never seen this one before, but I love hearing all about new makeup products that I've not seen. I get stuck in a rut so often, so keeps me inspired. I might want to look into this as it looks great! xx
