SONGS OF THE WEEK: OLDIES

While I was going home by tram yesterday I've noticed that I have some pretty amazing old songs on my iPod that I really like and I thought to myself "why not share them with the rest of the world?"

So here they are - songs of the week aka my six favourite old songs, in no particular order.

The first on the list is "You Make My Dreams" which is a song released in 1981 by Daryl Hall and John Oates. When this songs starts playing I can help but dance a little, just like they did in 500 Days Of Summer  and Glee.

The next song is a song you all probably know and it's called "Would I Lie to You?". You know it? I thought so. This song was released by Charles and Eddie in 1992 which is great because that's exactly the year I was born in. This song is such an easy song with simple lyrics and that is probably why I sing it all the time.

Third on the list is a song called "Easy" and it was released in 1977 by The Commodores and written by Lionel Richie. Even though this song is about ending a relationship it sounds happy, relaxing and "easy like Sunday morning".

This wouldn't be a good list of old songs if I didn't include The Beatles. "Hey Jude" is definitely my favourite Beatles' song. It's almost the oldest one on this list as it was released in 1968. This song was written by Paul McCartney and was inspired by John's son - Julian. The reason I put it on this list is because I can't help but love songs with nanananas in them.

If you are Supernatural fan you definitely know what's next on the list. Yes, "Carry On My Wayward Son" by Kansas which was released in 1976. This song begins every season finale of Supernatural so as you can imagine it is kind of an anthem for Supernatural fans, including me. I really like how it has different sequences, once it's calm and the next second it's loud, but most of all I just love screaming the lyrics while I'm home alone.

Last but not least - a song released by The Beach Boys in 1964 called "Don't Worry Baby". It's an easy and cheerful ballad which I like to listen to when I'm travelling. It's about a boy defending his honor by taking part in a car race and his girl telling him not to worry. I always listen to it when I'm upset because I just can't help but believe that "everything will turn out alright"!
