I think most beauty bloggers own at least one MUA lipstick as they are so affordable (they cost £1 each) and come in amazing shades! So I went to Superdrug the other day to get one for myself as well. I got it in shade 16 called "Nectar".
Let's start with the packaging. It is very simple, which is good because 1) I love everything simple and 2) it doesn't look cheap even though it is cheap. What I also like about the packaging is a small pot of lipstick on the bottom. I think it's perfect for people who use a brush to apply their lipstick.
"Nectar" is a bright peachy coral shade. When you consider the price, the quality of this lipstick is absolutely incredible. The formula is creamy and not very glossy, which is great because I'm not really into glossy lipsticks (except Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayons, these I love). The pigmentation is very great, the shade is opaque in one coat.
As for the downsides, I've only found three but considering the price, they are totally forgiveable. The first one is about the smell. I feel it only during the application but it smells like a cheap lipstick (but it is cheap so as I said before - totally forgiveable). It also feels a little bit dry on lips, definitely not hydrating. The last thing I don't love about this lipstick is of course the wear time. It stays on lips for about 2 hours so it needs to be reapplied very often.
In conclusion, I'm very impressed with this lipstick, I really didn't think that a £1 lipstick can be that good. The downsides are small therefore totally forgiveable. I will definitely buy some more MUA lipsticks very soon!
