CELEBRITY STYLE: KYLIE JENNER

If I only lived in a country where the temperature is always above at least 20 degrees I would definitely dress up like Kylie Jenner. I would just (not literally) steal her wardrobe. I've been obsessed with her style for so long now (I've even started watching "Keeping Up With The Kardashians"). I absolutely love the way she styles her outfits. I especially love her casual style. She makes ordinary clothes look amazing. She just puts on jeans shorts and a crop top and looks like a million dollars. My favourite casual outfit of her is the right one in the first set of pictures. These watermelon shorts are a must have for me this summer. Her more formal style or a "red carpet" style is also stunning. She really likes wearing minimalistic plain clothes and combining formal clothes and accessories with casual ones. My favourite formal outfit of her is the one where she's wearing a black maxi skirt and a white crop top. It is a perfect combination of styles!

Other than her fashion style I also adore her make-up. I think I've watched almost every Kylie Jenner make-up tutorial on YouTube and spent many (probably too many) hours trying to recreate it. I just never can recreate that perfect winged eyeliner she has. With a red or pink lipstick she adds, everything about her make up is amazing!

LAZY DAY MAKE-UP ESSENTIALS

I'm pretty sure every single one of you has a lazy make-up day every now and then. I know it's nothing to be proud of but I generally am a lazy person so I probably have those days a little bit more often. I'm not one of these people who won't leave the apartment without a full make-up on but I definitely do feel better when I put at least something on.

On my lazy make-up days I always put some concealer on, under my eyes and on blemishes. For that I'm currently using the Seventeen phwoarr Paint heavy duty concealer. Unless the condition of my skin is very bad, then I'm going for the foundation. This probably is no surprise for you as I've been raving about this foundation many many times but for that I use the Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation.Optionally, I also like using the bronzer to give my face a little bit of shape and colour. My favourite right now is the Bourjois Bronzing Powder. For me, blush is always a must have! But on my lazy day I like using the Topshop cream blush as it's much easier to apply. My favourite shade is definitely Flush! Another lazy make-up day must have is a mascara! If I had to choose only one beauty product to use for the rest of my life, it would be mascara. I can't imagine any make-up without mascara. For my lazy make-up I like using the Astor Big & Beautiful Boom! Curved mascara. It's very easy to apply and gives a lot of volume! The last thing I have to do while putting a lazy make-up are brows! I feel like the face always looks better with the brows done. Currently I'm using the Maybelline Master Shape Brow Pencil in Dark Brown. It's not the best brow pencil I have ever used and I will definitely not repurchase it but it's good for lazy day make-up as it has a great spoolie brush which is great for shaping the brows and helps get rid of the product excess when I go a little too hard with the pencil.

What do you like using for your lazy day make-up?

MONTHLY TREAT: theBalm Frat Boy blush

Last month I decided to purchase something special every month and post it on my blog under the name of "Monthly Treat". In February I got my first MAC lipstick and this month the monthly treat is theBalm Frat Boy blush. I've wanted to get this blush for such a long time! I've heard so many nice things about it and the shade (even though it looks slightly different in real live than on theBalm's website) is just exactly what I need in my make-up collection. I haven't tried it yet as I obviously waited to post it on my blog first (I guess it's the nightmare of all beauty bloggers) but I think I will love this blush just as much as I love my favourite blush which is the Sleek blush. I'm very excited to try this and I will definitely post a review soon so stay tuned.
Have you ever tried Frat Boy blush? What did you think?

RECENTLY LOVING: LIP STAINS

When it comes to long lasting make up I could buy almost absolutely everything. I think everybody loves long lasting make up as long as it's washable at some point. Couple of days ago I made a post about long lasting make up (click here) in which I included the Collection Colour Lip Pout Lip Stain in a shade called Flirt. I wrote that it stays put for an amazingly long time and this actually is the product that made me fall in love with lip stains.

Later on, I also purchased one Rimmel 1000 Kisses Lip Tint in shade Don't Stop Blushing which is a nice reddish raspberry pink and two Astor Perfect Stay Lip Tints. One in a shade called Blushing Rose which is a slightly darker red shade and bright orange Tequilla Sunrise. All of them are a 2-step lip tints which means that they all, beside the colour tint, have a transparent anti-dryness lip balm placed on the other side of the pen.

Unfortunately it's not all rainbows and unicorns because even though Rimmel and Astor are actually the same company, the Astor lip tints aren't what I've expected them to be. Blushing Rose looked really patchy and applying it was a nightmare. Tequilla Sunrise looked much better but was no longer usable after two applications. Fortunately the Rimmel Don't Stop Blushing turned out to be almost as good as the Collection lip pout. So now I'm using them alternately. I just wish I had more shades because if I had, I think I would only use those till the end of the world. They look amazing and there's no need of reapplying throughout the whole day.

Have you ever tried these lip tints? What did you think?

LIFE IN PICTURES: TRAVELLING FROM HOME TO HOME

My life has consisted of a lot of travelling lately. Unfortunately not the good kind where I get to travel the world and visit beautiful cities but the short kind where I travel from my home town where my parents live to my other current town where I study and live with my sister. It involved travelling by car and by train where I could spend time reading books or magazines like Elle. Also my friend Anna visited my some time ago. We hadn't seen each other in about 7 months I think. We spent time talking, drinking the best Starbucks coffee and shopping, of course. And of course, as I've been having plenty of free time recently, I've been watching tons of beauty YouTube videos. I really liked new Zoella's beauty haul which you can watch here

In other news, spring has arrived! The weather has been so nice for last couple of days that even the flowers started to bloom. Everything looks so so amazing and it's so warm outside! I need to get myself a nice springy parka very very soon!

What have you been up to lately?

SPRING 2014 MAKE-UP TRENDS PART II

Two days ago I posted the first part of Spring 2014 make-up trends. If you haven't seen the post, you can read it here. Here's the second part about keeping it neutral and about what's hot when it comes to eye make-up.

BAREFACE
The most important part of this look is glowing skin. Healthy looking skin is always "in" and for this look it is essential. This of course requires taking care of your skin by moisturising it and keeping a balanced diet. Any make up applied to get this look should complement the raw beauty. You can add a neutral blush or nude lipstick. The products you might want to try for this look are: MAC Strobe Cream, MAC Powder Blush in Blushbaby and Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in Nude Delight.

CAT-EYE
This spring every beauty addict should get a good liquid liner. Chic cat-eyes are essential for the coming season. If you are already bored of the classic cat-eye you can go a little bit crazy and bold the line like there's no limit. You can also add some colour or glitter (middle picture). The liquid liners you might try to get this look are: Bourjois Pinceau Eye LinerL'Oreal Super Liner Perfect Slim Eye Liner or just use your favourite liquid eye liner.

WHITE EYE MAKE-UP
Another trend that has been seen may times on SS14 catwalks is white eyelids, either made with an eye shadow or an eye liner. When it is done right it gives an effect of a dewy and fresh make-up. Just don't forget to apply some mascara or you will look like a ghost otherwise. Add a red lipstick to it and you're good to go. The products you might want to use for this look are: Sephora Collection Jumbo Liner in White or MAC Eye Shadow in White Frost.

EYELINER ALL AROUND
The last trend of the seven is a rock black eyeliner all around the eye. The best way to do it is to draw a strong solid line with a liquid eyeliner on the top and smudge an eye pencil on the bottom. Just remember not to add any flashy blush or lipstick so the focus stays all on your eyes. To create this look you might try liquid eye liners mentioned before and MAC Eye Kohl in Smolder or Maybelline Line Express Eyeliner in Ebony Black which also comes with a smart-tip smudger.

SPRING 2014 MAKE-UP TRENDS PART I

I think it's just about time to say that the spring has finally arrived. At least I hope the winter's not coming back. This means that it's time to learn something about the make-up trends for the Spring 2014. I did some research on the Internet and found seven trends that have been showed the most of times on catwalks during SS14 fashion shows. Here are three of them:

BERRY LIPS
We all know that dark lips are definitely Autumn's domain. But berry lips are still "in" even though the temperature is getting higher and the sun shines more often. If you're not a fan of dark lipstick though, it's very trendy to wear a soft berry lipstick instead (on the left). The products you might want to try for berry lips look are: Urban Decay Naked Ultra Nourishing Lipgloss in a shade Beso, MAC Mineralize Rich Lipstick in Lush Life or Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Berry Couture.
PASTEL EYELIDS
Pastel eyeshadows were very popular on SS14 catwalks. There's a big variety of pastel shades such as soft pinks, greens, baby blues or violets. The best way to get this look is to swipe the eyeshadow all over the lid and blend it softly. You can also go a little bit more crazy and apply the eye shadow only on the lower lash line (like in the right picture). The products you might want to try for this look are: MUA Pretty Pastels Palette and Bobbi Brown Pastel Brights Eye Palette.
BRIGHT ORANGE LIPSTICK
Orange is definitely the lip shade of the season! Fortunately orange is that shade of lips that looks good on almost everyone. It's a shade that compliments and brightens up practically all complexions. Of course bright orange lips look good as long as they are not combined with fuchsia cheeks and green eye make-up. It's better to keep it neutral. Orange lipsticks that you might want to try on your lips this spring are: NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Timanfaya Park, MAC lipstick in Morange or Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids in Electric Orange.

Which of these Spring 2014 looks do you like the most? Come back on Wednesday to see the second part of Spring 2014 trends.

LONG LASTING MAKE UP? YES, PLEASE!

For me, the most important feature of the product is its longevity. I've been trying many product, always with the purpose to find the most lasting ones. And I finally found some that I will use as long as possible!

When it comes to face products the most durable foundation I have ever used is the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation. No wonder why this is my forever favourite one. I will be repurchasing it as log as it stays on drugstore shelves. It says on my skin for a whole day without any movements. As for the powder, the most durable one I've used is a Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder. I haven't tried many powders because I've found this one quite soon. And I'm glad I did because this product is a miracle. It doesn't of course stay put all day but in the end of a day which powder does. It stays on my face for about 4-5 hours and that really is long for an oily/combination skin like mine. The most durable blush I've tried is the Sleek blush. It's not only highly pigmented and easy to apply but very long lasting. It stays on my cheeks for about 8 hours. I definitely need to get more shades!

Talking about eye products I've picked three: an eye liner, a cream shadow and powder shadows. As for the eye liner, the one I find the most durable is L'Oreal Super Liner Perfect Slim. I remember wearing it once for a trip on a rainy day. I've been walking in the rain for a whole day, soaking wet and when I came back home, the liner was exactly where I'd applied it. I've never been more surprised in my whole life. My favourite long lasting cream shadow is the Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo 24HR Cream Gel Shadow. I wouldn't say it stays put for 24 hours. It tends to crease after about 8-9 hours but it still is amazing for a person with oily eye lids like mine. As for powder shadows the most durable ones I own are Inglot eyeshadows. They stay on my eye lids for a whole day without creasing. They're also super pigmented and the colour range is amazing. I could rave about them for days!

Now onto the last part which is lip products. The first one is Collection Colour Pout Lip Stain. I became absolutely sure this is the most long lasting lip product I own when I woke up with it on my lips on New Year's Day, after wearing it for the whole evening and night of New Year's Eve. Imagine my surprise! The next lip product I find extremely durable is Barry M Lip Paint in Touch of Magic aka the green lipstick. It's like it changes the colour of my lips for about 7-8 hours. I'm so glad Barry M collaborated with Hogwarts to create this magical lipstick!

MY THOUGHTS ON: MAX FACTOR EXCESS VOLUME EXTREME IMPACT MASCARA

I recently purchased the newest addition to Max Factor mascaras collection which is the Excess Volume Extreme Impact Mascara. Or more like mascaras, because it consists of two wands. One of them is a volumising base and the other wand is an intense black lacquer.

The volumising part has the most amazing rubber wand I have ever used! It really thickens the lashes and is perfect for an everyday or dramatic make-up. It separates the lashes very well and there's not a single chance of clumping. The other part which is a classic wire wand gives a polished jet black finish which means it makes lashes look like they were wet and glossy. I've used this part of the mascara only about three times so far and it's probably because for me it feels a little bit too heavy and sticky.  And it's probably also because I love the volumising wand so much!

There are two drawbacks of this mascara that I found. The first one is that the wands are far too short. I know this mascara looks really big just the way it is but the distance between the actual brush and the plastic packaging should be bigger. Or the whole mascara should just be a little bit slimmer. It would definitely make the applying a lot easier. The other drawback is connected with the lacquer finish part. For me, it's totally unnecessary therefore the next time I will try the False Lash Effect Fusion Mascara. It has a similar (and longer) wand and it's also cheaper so it's a "win win win" deal for me.

Have you already tried this mascara? What did you think?

FEBRUARY WISHLIST

Here are some beauty and fashion things I would love to get before too long. And by " before too long' I mean before the Spring really arrives. It can already be felt in my city as the sun is shining here every single day and it's so warm I sometimes don't even need a coat. I can't believe it's still February! And I'm definitely not complaining. So as the always wanted Spring is just around the corner, here are some pretty things I'm adding to my enormous never ending wishlist!
1. Topshop Mono Floral Crop Top
I love wearing skater skirts but I always struggle with combining them with tops. I don't really own many tops that go together with skater skirts and this definitely has to change! Especially now, before Spring, the season of skater skirts. I really love this Topshop top as it is quite chic, just how I like to dress up lately! It would look amazing with my black leather skirt.

2. Topshop Concertina Bag
I don't really feel comfortable wearing bright coloured bags during most of the time and I do think it's quite hard to combine them with some outfits so obviously most of the bags I own are brown or black. A yellow bag like that would definitely be a good start of the new era in the baggy part of my life.

3. e.l.f. Studio Baked Eyeshadow Palette
I've heard that e.l.f.'s baked eyeshadows are really good therefore I would definitely like to have them in my make-up collection. There are four different sets of shades available and I think I would choose NYC (the one in the picture above) and California. And Texas just because I love Texas.

4. e.l.f. Studio Endless Eyes Pro Eyeshadow Palette
Here's another e.l.f. eyeshadow palette because again, I've heard they are great. This time it's an enormous palette with a wide range of colours: blues, greens, pinks, oranges and a big variety of neutrals. Just the palette I need!

5. Soap & Glory Glow All Out Luminising Face Powder
Here's another thing I've heard a massive amount of good things about. It looks like it would give a nice natural glow to my skin and this seems like a perfect option for the Spring!

6. Bourjois Happy Light Foundation
I love using my forever favourite foundation which is the Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation and as it does have a little shimmer in it, it gives a nice glowing effect aswell. But if I was looking for a replacement I would definitely try this one first! It seems like a perfect foundation for the springtime and it also hydrates the skin for 8 hours!

7. Real Techniques Starter Set
I feel like it's about time I got myself some really good quality set of eyeshadow brushes and even though this one is called a starter set, I think it is just the one I need. The base shadow brush, crease brush and the liner brush would really help me in my everyday make up routine.

What's on your wishlist in this month?

MY THOUGHTS ON: NYC IN A NEW YORK COLOUR MINUTE QUICK DRY NAIL POLISHES

When I was still in Ireland I bought two NYC In a New York Colour Minute Quick Dry nail polishes. I really wish there were more colours available in that drugstore because oh man, these nail polishes are amazing!

Unfortunately I got only two of them. The first one is called Manhattan which is a very deep burgundy/plummy tone. This shade is perfect for the Autumn and Winter. I've been using it so much for the past three months. The other nail polish I bought is called Blue Sky. I don't think the name is relevant here as it is a bright mint green. This shade on the other side is perfect for Spring and Summer. I think I could successively survive a whole year with just these two!

I just adore the formula of these nail polishes! The brush makes it super easy to apply and it dries very quickly. I wouldn't say it dries in one minute, especially when it comes to the second layer but it surely does dry quicker than most of my nail polishes. It takes two coats for each of them to be completely opaque. Both of these nail polishes have an amazing gloss finish. As for the price (£1.79) these nail polishes truly are amazing and I will definitely get more shades if I get the chance!

MONTHLY TREAT: MY FIRST MAC LIPSTICK

This month I decided to treat myself with something I've wanted for a really really long time - a MAC lipstick. I've been actually wanting to get a lipstick called Crosswires as I think it would be a great every day coral shade but as it was sold out and I couldn't wait any longer I went for Speak Louder from the Cremesheen line. MAC describes this shade as "clean poppy blue pink" but I don't really see the blue undertone in it. For me it's a strong pink shade with a hint of coral. The Cremesheen formula is very soft. The lipstick is very pigmented, just one swipe and the it is opaque. What's also amazing about Speak Louder is that it is flashy enough to be worn on special occasions and light enough to be an everyday shade. I don't know if it's my favourite MAC formula as it's my first MAC lipstick but I definitely want to try some more, maybe more matte formulas. But the next one will for sure be Cremesheen Crosswires (or Ravishing...or both).

What have you treated yourself with this month?

NEW IN: SLEEK I-DIVINE "GARDEN OF EDEN" PALETTE + SWATCHES

I've been wanting to get this palette since I first came across it in the Internet. Especially because I've been loving green smoky eye make up lately but also because this palette is perfect for green/hazel eyes like mine. The Sleek "Garden of Eden" palette consists of twelve mineral based eye shadows. The shades are all nature inspired, there are various purples, natural browns and earthy greens. Purple is great for making green/hazel eyes pop and look more dramatic and browns and greens will be perfect for the natural every-day look. I am super excited to try this palette!

My favourites are definitely going to be Tree Of Life, Python, Fauna and Gates of Eden. Probably because they're the most pigmented shadows in the palette. I've already noticed that Forbidden and Entwined are the least pigmented shadows so I think it will be difficult to get the colour out of them but I will try my best. I'm pretty sure I'll be using this palette (only) for the rest of the month, I'm totally in love with it!

Gates of Eden, Eve's Kiss, Paradise on Earth, Python, Forbidden, Flora

Entwined, Adam's Apple, Fig, Evergreen, Fauna, Tree of Life

Have you already got your hands on this new Sleek palette? What do you think?

MY THOUGHTS ON: COLLECTION LASTING PERFECTION CONCEALER

I think the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer is the most famous drugstore concealer in the whole beauty blogging world. I'm pretty sure most people have already tried it and what's even more amazing, most people have totally fallen in love with it! And I'm not even surprised. This concealer really is amazing!

The consistency of the Lasting Perfection Concealer is quite thick which works very well for me. I prefer concealers to be thick, this way they provide the coverage I need. It covers redness and blemishes very well. It's also amazing for dark under eye circles.

There are of course some drawbacks of the product. The first one concerns the packaging. It's very low quality and the black letters seem to stay on my hands every time I use it. As you can see in the photo, they're already almost gone. The next not so good thing about the concealer is that it doesn't really stay put for 16 hours as producer claims. I noticed some movement after about 8 hours but as I have oily skin and such movements happen to me a lot, I am thankful for those 8 hours I get.

I can totally see myself using this concealer for ages! Have you tried it? What did you think?

MY THOUGHTS ON: RIMMEL EYE SHADOWS

Some time ago I found those small Rimmel eye shadows palettes on a really big sale and just had to get some. I got two Glam'Eyes Quad Eyeshadows in Thrill Seeker (top left) and Green Sapphire (top right). I also got one of those Union Jack lookalikes Glam'Eyes HD Eyeshadows. I didn't went for the classical Union Jack shades though. I chose the black and white version called Black Cab.

The best thing about these Rimmel eye shadows is the packaging. They are perfect for travelling as they're quite small and handy. Because of the square shape they're also very easy to store. What I also really like about them is that they are very easy to use, especially when you're in a rush and don't have time to pick from a wide range of different shades. You just pick one of these and viola, the idea for a perfect eye make-up magically appears!

Those shadows unfortunately aren't very pigmented, especially when it comes to lighter shades like the light pink champagne in Green Sapphire or light grey in Thrill Seeker. The pigmentation of darker shades is better but they still need to be built up. They last about 8 hours without creasing which for me, an owner of oily eyelids, is very good. I have only tried them with eye shadow primer though therefore I can't really justify the lasting power without using the primer first. The applicator provided with the palette is impossible for me to use. I totally prefer using my own brushes. with them the shadows are easy to blend. The next good thing about them is the price but only because I got them on sale. If I paid the full price, I think I would be disappointed.

As for the shades my favourites are definitely the greens, especially the light khaki and shimmery sapphire in Green Saphire. They are perfect for creating the green smoky eye which I have been really loving lately. I also love using the Black Cab's shimmery white and Green Sapphire's pink champagne as highlighters.

Have you ever tried Rimmel eyeshadows? What did you think?
